Alanya Castle, perched high on a rocky peninsula, is a remarkable example of medieval military architecture and a must-see destination in southern Turkey. Built during the Seljuk period in the 13th century, the fortress stretches for over 6 kilometers, encircling the historical peninsula. Inside the castle walls, you’ll find remnants of ancient cisterns, Byzantine churches, the Red Tower, and charming Ottoman houses.
